Carl Eldh's bust of Strindberg in Paris

Carl Eldh, August Strindberg (1905), Paris 2017, CEA.jpg

On November 6th 2017, Place August Strindberg was inaugurated next to the church Saint-Sulpice in Paris 6th district. At the same time a new cast of Carl Eldh's famous bust of August Strindberg (1905) was unveiled, in the presence of among others, Minister for Culture and Democracy Alice Bah Kuhnke. Eldh has portrayed the author in supernatural size with reinforced features, hair like burning flames and lively surface treatment. It is a psychological interpretation in Rodin's spirit, which has become almost iconic.
